Woosang Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics. After passing the 50th Korean Bar Examination, he completed the 40th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He subsequently spent approximately 16 years at a leading global mobility company, where he gained extensive experience across a broad range of corporate legal and compliance matters. For more than a decade, he served in key leadership roles, including Head of Legal, Compliance Officer, and Fair Trade Compliance Program Manager, overseeing major legal and regulatory risks and establishing and operating corporate compliance systems.
Drawing on his deep understanding of the mobility and manufacturing industries and his extensive in-house legal experience, Mr. Lee has handled a wide range of matters involving antitrust and competition, employment and labor, and occupational safety. His experience includes cartel and unfair trade practice matters as well as numerous issues arising under Korea’s subcontracting and agency laws. He has also handled employment and labor disputes, serious industrial accident matters, and other legal issues arising in the course of corporate operations.
Mr. Lee has developed particular expertise in corporate compliance and governance. He has designed and implemented a variety of compliance programs required for domestic and international business operations, covering areas such as antitrust and competition, data privacy, global economic sanctions, and supply chain management. His work has extended beyond responding to regulatory issues after they arise. He has also focused extensively on preventive compliance by integrating legal risk management frameworks into internal business processes and corporate decision-making structures.
Having served as a team leader within the compliance function of a major corporation, Mr. Lee worked closely with business units and senior management. This experience provided him with an in-depth understanding of internal corporate decision-making and day-to-day business operations. As a result, he is particularly well positioned to provide practical solutions that take into account not only legal considerations but also clients’ business structures and operating environments.
Building on this experience, Mr. Lee advises large corporations, mid-sized companies, and startups on a broad range of matters involving corporate law, antitrust and competition, employment and labor, compliance, and governance. In particular, he assists clients in establishing and effectively operating compliance management systems tailored to their business characteristics and organizational structures. Beyond responding to disputes and regulatory risks, he provides practical legal solutions designed to identify and mitigate potential legal risks before they materialize.
