Hong Young Kim is the Head of the Global Business Support Center and Chief Advisor at DLG Law Corporation. A recipient of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MEXT) scholarship, he studied in both the master's and doctoral programs at Kyushu University’s Graduate School of Law. With extensive academic and professional experience, he has developed strong expertise in cross-border legal affairs. He previously worked at major Korean law firms and has managed a wide range of legal matters involving Japan, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
These include Japanese corporations acquiring real estate in Korea, Korean companies investing in Japanese real estate and golf courses, IPOs and M&As involving Japanese firms, labor-related legal issues, and Korean conglomerates’ solar energy projects in Japan. His experience spans the ASEAN region, encompassing advice on local incorporation, cross-border disputes, and SPC investments utilizing tax havens. He has also handled Myanmar-related projects for major Japanese trading companies, M&A for a Korean financial group’s Thai consumer finance venture, and renewable energy investments in Vietnam by Japan’s leading energy company.
