Kyu Ho Hwang is a partner and registered patent attorney at DLG Law Corporation. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a J.D. from Seoul National University School of Law. With dual expertise in engineering and law, he brings a rare depth of understanding to legal issues involving technology based on his R&D experience.
Mr. Hwang began his legal career at one of Korea’s top law firms, Yoon & Yang, where he handled complex intellectual property disputes, trade secret litigation, and industrial technology protection matters. He has extensive experience resolving a wide range of disputes involving technical issues such as fires, explosions, and hacking incidents, as well as defects in facilities, buildings, automobiles, and aircraft. Also possesses a unique background in having directly handled the IPO process after transitioning from a major law firm to a startup.
His experience includes in-house counsel at a KOSDAQ-listed biotech company, giving him first-hand insight into corporate legal strategy and regulatory compliance. He has also provided legal support for companies navigating IPOs, particularly tech-special listing procedures in Korea.
At DLG, Mr. Hwang advises clients from early-stage startups to public companies on a broad spectrum of legal matters, including IP portfolio management, trade secret protection, product liability, data privacy, and ESG compliance. He combines scientific insight with legal strategy to protect and enhance the technical value of his clients.
