Jae-Wook Choi began his career at a law firm where he handled litigation and corporate advisory matters for several years. He later served as Head of the Business Support Team and Director of the Agri-Food Venture Startup Center at the Foundation of Agri. Tech. Commercialization & Transfer (FACT), an affiliate of the Rural Development Administration. In these roles, he provided extensive legal advisory services in the commercialization of agri-food technologies and in the startup sector.
In particular, he advised agri-food companies associated with the Foundation, supported projects for the overseas transfer of new plant varieties, and handled legal matters specialized in the agri-food sector. He also participated in legislative projects involving the amendment and enactment of key laws such as the Seed Industry Act and the Plant Variety Protection Act under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Rural Development Administration (RDA). In addition, he has served as an evaluator and advisory committee member for various public institutions, including the Korea Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology in Food, Agriculture and Forestry (IPET).
Furthermore, Jae-Wook Choi held positions as Director of the Gangwon and Seoul Agri-Food Venture Startup Centers, where he actively supported startups in the agri-food industry. He has been engaged in publishing, lecturing, and mentoring activities for agri-food startups, and, as Head of the Business Support Team, he was extensively involved in the planning, execution, and evaluation of national R&D projects supporting the commercialization of agri-food technologies.
At DLG, Jae-Wook Choi has expanded his practice beyond the agricultural sector to cover content and biotech startups, where he advises on a broad range of corporate legal matters. His practice primarily focuses on investment contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and initial public offerings (IPO).
