• Represented a party in a SIAC arbitration seated in Singapore relating to the approximately USD 1.5 billion acquisition of a mixed-use real estate complex including the IFC Seoul building and the Conrad Hotel.


• Represented Mirae Asset in a USD 5.8 billion acquisition of 15 luxury hotels in the United States from a Chinese insurance company, securing complete winds in both the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court.


• As in-house counsel, successfully defended and resolved large-scale civil and criminal intellectual property infringement claims brought by a major Korean semiconductor manufacturer.


• Represented a client in an ICC arbitration seated in Geneva involving a trademark dispute under a licensing agreement with a French luxury brand.


• Represented a client in a UNCITRAL arbitration seated in Geneva involving intellectual property disputes under a licensing agreement with Swiss-based global accounting firms.


• Represented parties in an LCIA arbitration seated in Vancouver concerning shareholder disputes arising from a share purchase agreement between Korean companies.

• Served as a member of executive leadership teams at multinational corporations in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea, overseeing corporate strategy, governance, compliance, intellectual property, HR, and security matters.


• Represented the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) in the sale of Korea Life Insurance shares (Hanwha Group, Orix, Macquarie Life Insurance).


• Represented Citigroup Venture Capital in connection with the divestiture of Hynix Semiconductor’s non-memory business.


• Advised the Prudential Group on the acquisition of Youngpoong Life Insurance and post-merger integration.


• Represented Asahi Glass in a joint venture with Kumkang Korea Chemical for automotive glass manufacturing.


• Advised Standard Chartered Bank on a private equity investment in International Display Solutions.


• Advised on real estate development projects for Samsung Tesco (Samsung Group–Tesco joint venture).


• Advised Korea Telecom and Korea Telecom Powertel on a share acquisition agreement with Nextel International.


• Advised Hankook Tire on strategic alliance and supply projects with Michelin.


• Represented Ferro Corporation in a powder coatings joint venture with LG Chem.


• Advised CJ39 Shopping on a home-shopping joint venture with a Chinese broadcaster.


• Represented Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Hyundai Motor Company, and Hyundai Corporation in real estate development projects in China with Hines.


• Represented Bain & Company in the spin-off of Hynix Semiconductor’s packaging business and subsequent acquisition of ChipPAC Korea.


• Advised Walmart on the acquisition of Korea Makro and related commercial matters in Korea.


• Represented CDL Hotels International and Hong Leong Management Services in the acquisition of the Seoul Hilton Hotel from the Daewoo Group.
