Profile

Jae-Yong Park, an attorney admitted to the Korean Bar, has worked for years at local law firms in China after graduating with LL.M. degree in Chinese Civil/Commercial law from Peking University Law School. He has handled various advisory services and litigation projects related to Sino-Korean joint venture agreements, equity investments, M&A, personal information/data compliance, protection of intellectual property rights and trade secrets in China, as well as international trade disputes. Additionally, he has provided legal advice on Korean laws to Chinese and global companies, including those in fields of online gaming and fin-tech. He has also advised on Korean laws and precedents in international arbitration cases. In summary, he has facilitated bi-directional legal services between Korea and China.

In domestic law firms, he has conducted diverse civil, criminal, and administrative litigation cases involving intellectual property rights including copyright, trademark, and patent, as well as cases related to personal information and the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. He has also defended suspects in the course of investigation at the police station and prosecutor’s office. Furthermore, he has worked in roles of planning, performance and operational management in a global internet technology company, building on his previous career as a marketing consultant. He has deepened his understanding of business management and marketing in high-tech and content companies and integrated problem-solving consulting perspectives into his legal services.

Mr. Park has delivered lectures on timely Korean-Chinese legal issues at seminars organized by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency (KOIPA), and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), as well as through invitations extended by Chinese companies.
