ESG Sustainability Center

Importance of ESG

The era of discussing a company’s value
solely based on financial statements has passed.
The three key elements of environment, social, and governance (ESG), which play a crucial role in a company’s future value, are rewriting the purpose of its existence and future survival strategies. Although concepts of a company’s social responsibility and sustainable management have existed in the past, they have been further emphasized under the ESG agenda, posing both significant opportunities and threats to us all.
As the importance of ESG triggered in the investment market begins to influence global economic regulations, companies are facing challenges such as mandatory ESG disclosure, intensified scrutiny on global supply chains, and legislative efforts related to environmental issues due to climate change. ESG, once perceived as the exclusive concern of large corporations, has now become a major issue that even small and medium-sized enterprises must address. Moreover, public institutions are incorporating environmental, social, and governance factors as important management indicators. Market consumers and civic organizations are strongly demanding authentic ESG management from companies.
Proactively responding to the changing business environment, managing risks, and exploring new opportunities have become essential tasks for a company’s long-term growth.

Orientation of ESG Sustainability Center

Since establishing roots with D.Camp, a pioneering startup ecosystem player, in 2017, DLG Law Corporation has expanded its footprint with branch offices in Busan, Daejeon, Vancouver (Canada), Frankfurt (Germany), and various locations across Southeast Asia including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Singapore. We offer innovative legal services to domestic and international businesses as well as public institutions.
DLG Law Corporation has been dedicated to pursuing shared values for social change alongside various stakeholders in the industrial ecosystem. Rather than viewing businesses as static entities, we perceive them as dynamic entities coexisting and evolving with us. We believe that products and services created by businesses should benefit people, their production processes should not harm the environment, and ultimately, all these processes should generate shared value that fosters the growth of individuals and society.
Through ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives, DLG Law Corporation aims to extend these corporate values to society. Our ‘ESG Sustainability Center’ endeavors to offer tailored ESG solutions for entities ranging from major corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) urgently needing to adopt ESG management due to supply chain demands. We engage in close communication with businesses to propose ESG strategies aligned with their growth stages, thereby assisting them in establishing essential systems for long-term sustainable growth.

Introduction to the ESG Sustainability Center

DLG Law Corporation has been providing diverse legal advisory services that emphasize social value to its clients. Building on its experience in issues such as “business and human rights,” carbon markets, RE100-related legal advice, and advising on healthy governance practices including board meetings and shareholder assemblies, DLG has established a dedicated ESG organization. This organization aims to provide clients with more comprehensive and in-depth advisory services on their ESG issues.
The DLG ESG Sustainability Center continuously monitors and analyzes environmental, social, and governance-related issues and trends, such as ESG disclosure targets and scope expansion, global supply chain due diligence, communication with investors and stakeholders, and responses to domestic and international financial markets and regulations. It then offers focused advisory services to clients.
Moreover, recognizing that even small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies not subject to ESG disclosure requirements need to identify ESG-related risks and opportunities and integrate them into their management systems, DLG provides advisory services to help them prepare for supply chain audits, trade regulations, and business transitions to new markets, thereby continuously enhancing their corporate value.
The DLG ESG Sustainability Center has a team of specialized attorneys and experts in areas such as corporate law, human rights, environment and climate change, fair trade, human rights management, compliance, communication, sustainable management reporting, and social value measurement. This multidisciplinary approach enables DLG to offer integrated ESG advisory services, ensuring swift and systematic responses to the rapidly expanding ESG landscape.
